Would like to start with PPP for the Dutch Pre-1700 profiles , so here's the first one and  his family ( so see wife and children as well) if any of you have some families or profiles that need  or you think are good candidates for PPP as well I would like to hear or just propose here (G2G) and we can try get some of them done . Thousands to go so we have to start somewhere :)

WikiTree profile: Abraham de Schilder

That looks like a good lineage to start on. And I know that you have done a good job validating that the Hegeman name in particular is a true surname. It also crosses into a major New Netherland immigrant branch.

At a glance, these names, although not patronyms, follow the Dutch Roots Naming Convention for LNAB.

The second qualification is that they are sourced from the approved source list.

So as far as following any rules for applying PPP or the the template, I would say that this lineage passes those tests, as I understand them.

Thanks Steven, and thats also why I liked to start with this family, had some other families / options,  but thought well almost all NNS Hegeman profiles already have PPP, so for me this just was the most logic family to start with.

First of all: nice job Bea!

For even more certainty I started checking the marriage of Abraham de Schilder and Catalina Metsu. Here's what I found:

  1. Original marriage bann document (Schilder-Metsue): "Netherlands, Noord-Holland Province, Church Records, 1523-1948," images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1971-31146-11802-13?cc=2037985&wc=SM9S-W38:1293193204,382015502,382299301 : accessed 30 May 2015), Nederlands Hervormde > Amsterdam > Huwelijksaangiften, Trouwen 1617-1620 > image 461 of 570; Nederlands Rijksarchiefdienst, Den Haag (Netherlands National Archives, The Hague)
  2. Document says Abraham is from Middelburg, and 21 or 27 (not too readable) years of age
  3. Document says Catalina is 19 years of age
  4. Maybe someone can find even more info in the document
  5. Item 2 would point to father as mentioned under  I. Pieter de Schilder in your source http://www.nikhef.nl/~louk/SCHIL/generation1.html

Looking for Metsu(e) I find: http://www.bloggen.be/speuren/archief.php?startdatum=1387753200&stopdatum=1388358000

with lots of information on Metsu's in Amsterdam, among which Philip.

Thanks Jan ! smiley

Guess the proper age is indeed 27 and this would make year of Birth about 1592, his brother according the genealogy ''source'' was born at Rotterdam, and indeed they mention some Pieters that might be indentical with for example father, the Middelburg one is here: http://www.archieven.nl/nl/zoeken?mivast=0&mizig=236&miadt=239&miaet=54&micode=164-952&minr=2975&miview=ldt and he is mentioned as Diaken and Ouderling as well from Nov 14, 1587 until Nov 10, 1596., just like the genealogy says, so I'm still searching for Baptism/ Birth records for both of them, but for PPP guess we now have pretty good sources and lots of pretty accurate information for them . All additionall info, if found,  we can add later of course .

And see also the part  mentioned about Rotterdam http://www.nikhef.nl/~louk/SCHIL/generation1.html , de Latijnsche school etc.. so this one very well could be indentical and one and the same (father) , coming from Rotterdam (were brother Pieter was  born ?) and went to Middelburg for his work (koopman Middelburg)

*I'll change year and place of Birth for Abraham, guess this is really were he was born since it's mentioned in the original record as well.

Thanks for your help,  and the Amsterdam records very often are kind of 'abracadabra' with lots of different sometimes even very wrong spellings,  I was trying to decipher the record, my husband asked if I was trying to crawl into the screen cheeky

Unfortunetaly DTB-records of Middelburg were lost...

Waauw that's a lot of info indeed, of course I already was searching for father Philip or Philips and all variations of the last name at the Amsterdam archive, found some of the here mentioned info indeed and as well, but wasn't sure if the one I found and was mentioned at the Amsterdam archive really was her father, great there's so much info for this family ! (found no Birth/Baptism record for her)

And yes the missing DTB books from Middelburg is something that already and unfortunately caused missing and vital info for some other pre-1700 families as well (Brick wall and still looking for the real parents) maybe you could look at these families as well, you're great with sources . He or his wife or maybe even both was/were from Middelburg as well according many genealogies...at least they emigrated from Middelburg

Thanks for the great sources yes
