HI Veronica,

As a nomination: WikiTree contributors, "Ruth Pauline (Pursehouse) Frith OAM (1909-2014)," WikiTree: The Free Family Tree, (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Pursehouse-79 : accessed 01 January 2023).

I am a member as SAG as well.

Thanks Craig - you are lucky to have such distinguished grandparents.  I will add her to the list.  We just need a reason why you think Ruth would be good candidate in the challenge?
Hi Veronica,
Not sure what a valid reason would be, given that I do not (yet) understand the reason for the challenge.
Craig
SAG are nominating 7 profiles for Wikitree to work on.  As a SAG member you can vote to choose the 7.  Watch for an email today!  I've put her down as an athlete and centenarian.  We will be trying to get 7 profiles in different categories of life, with diverse ancestry so we can engage a greater number of Wikitreers.

I hope I have done what I need to do to participate. On 19 January I would like to start by adding the documentation I already have to   .

Yes, can't wait, looking forward to it!

In anticipation, you could start looking to see if any of his known family in Australia are on Wikitree already? I know we know little about Ireland but perhaps his wife and any children?  Or don't you know of any?
I don't know of any and I did not get a response from the descendant on the convict site. Will look into it and html it ready for insertion on 19th.

My previous research was totally focused on proving who the guide was so I only pursued our relative.
I have identified his wife, Mary Atkins, and his daughter, Mary Burn(s) (or whatever), born about 1815 and on the 1825 and 1828 musters.

Mary appears to have married William Marsh (1832, Castlereagh) but another William Marsh married Mary Ann Bryan (1835 Bungonia).

There are two sons, James (1832) & William (1834) who look secure. But there's a baby born in Cobbitty in 1837 (Mary Ann Elizabeth Marsh) who then goes on to marry in Bungonia so I haven't sorted out whose child she is.

I have identified a descendant of William (1834) who has an Ancestry tree and have messaged him.
Just to say that I have now separated the two Mary Marsh babies. The Cobbitty baby is Mary Ann Elizabeth and probably dies. Another Mary Ann with no visible birth  is born in Jerrara and lives to Mary. Most existing genealogies attribute the birth to the baby who dies.
