Middle Earth and Tolkien in Smithsonian Magazine

There is an outstanding article titled Tolkien's World in the October 2022 Smithsonian vol. 53(5):52-63. You might also try smithsonianmag.com

I recieve this magazine complimentary as I donate to the Smithsonian. The articles are very interesting and well-written. This month actually featured a story on Samuel Adams: A bold new view of the forgotten founder. It made me aware of much more that Sam Adams ale.

This edition also has stories on the mysteries of smelling (BTW this may be a way of diagnosing Covid, assessing long Covid) and other articles that may be of interest.

I just found it of coincidence that this week's 'Middle Earth' happened to coincide with this really wonderful article about Tolkien.

You think it coincidence?  As the original request for suggestions of profiles to work on said, "Hobbit day is coming soon..."  It was 22 Sept this year, in celebration of the 85th anniversary of The Hobbit, and is recognized both US National and International.

There's not much you can't find a link to connect one event with another...

Rick...my coincidence should have read 'coincidence' as tongue in cheek with our 'Middle Earth'. The article also mentioned the television program is being developed. And you are correct...there really are no coincidences.

It is a great magazine and after reading it from cover to cover, I share it with my neighbors, who cannot even afford to make a donation to any program.
