Is there a way to add row numbers to tables? [closed]

Hi all,

I'd like my 1847 table to have row numbers to match the original document - preferably without me having to type them all in.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Editing_Tips does not mention them, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Static_row_numbers doesn't seem to work.

Is it possible?

Thanks, Chris.

Having just submitted my question, the system points me to https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1091031/adding-a-row-counter-to-a-table.

I suspect the answer is still the same.
Let me know if you need help implementing my bad idea, Chris
Thanks Jonathan,

I may just automate the table with a script on my end - once complete it won't change.
