I'm reaching a dead end in one branch of my family tree - my great grandfather, Evelyn Naidorf (also spelled Naidorff, Nidorf, and pretty much every other possible combination of that pronunciation you can imagine.)
Info I have thus far (which is hopefully correct but may not be so):
- She was born on Jan 15, 1912 in the USSR (I believe in what is modern day Poland? No specific town)
- Gave birth to son Sheldon Robert Bruce Levy in 1933
- Married Alfred "Fred" Levy in 1941
- Died 24 Jan 1962 in West Hartford, Connecticut
Her parents are listed as:
Ida Leitman
Born 10 Mar 1874 in Bralov, Kaminsk, Russia (modern day Belarus)
Daughter of Isaac Leitman and Rose Kappits
Died Oct 21, 1966 in New Haven, Connecticut
and Solomon Naidorf
Born Jan 15 1872 in Bralov, Kaminsk, Russia (modern day Belarus)
Son of Shlomo Naidorf and Eva Chane Perl Goldstein
Now... I know nothing else about Solomon or Ida, and even less so about their parents - and then it just ends there. I think they might have been Jewish? I tried making an account on JewishGen but it was a nightmare even trying so I just gave up. I haven't found anything anywhere else - any help is greatly appreciated!
