Comments

The term "hat trick" isn't specific only to goals in football (soccer).  It also refers to three consecutive "outs" in cricket (where the term originated in 1858 - and first appeared in print in 1865).  The term is now also used in many other sports such as rugby, association football (soccer (already mentioned)), hockey, water polo, and Formula 1 racing.
