Is there a way to program wikitree to recognize variants of older names?

In reviewing and merging duplicates, I see that at times, the duplicate person was likely created due to the fact that variants do not show up when I click 'add person' (I test it by adding the info in 'add person' without completing the action, and the variant of the spelling does not show up).  Here are some examples of name variants that would ideally show up upon adding any variant of the name:
IE:

-Eliphalet & Eliphelet
-Eben, Eber, Ebenezer
-Ashbel, Ashabel
-Emaline, Emmaline, Emeline, Emmeline
-Benajah, Benjamin, Benji

-Elzear / Eleazar

French canadian:
-Thalie for Nathalie, Natalie

Last names:

Eaton / Eaten
Chamberlin/Chamberlain/Chamberland

These are just a few examples - perhaps this is the best way for feedback?

According to https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1153799/you-know-first-name-surname-variants-missing-from-wikitree, WikiTree uses the WeRelate Variant Names Project to identify name variants for both given names and last names. I think if you add the variants you want to https://www.werelate.org/wiki/Special:Names then they will eventually show up in WikiTree, although you may have to wait a little while as the databases are only updated quarterly.
