Terry and McNair Native DNA

Apparently my 6th great grand uncle David McNair married Delilah Amelia Vann (Cherokee) daughter of Chief James Vann II Vann (Cherokee).

My 7th great grand uncle William Trapper Terry married into the Cheraw.

What is interesting here is that I share Native DNA with two cousins in this family but I believe only one is from a Native line. I could explain the match with William Trappers decendent because I am a decendent of FNU Colby who was Cheraw but not the other McNair decendent unless there is another Native in the tree.

How do you know that it’s “Native” DNA that you share with these cousins?
