Eldest child of Thankful (Root) Parsons, was it Thankful or was it Sarah?

Question

I connected Sarah (Parsons) Purchase (born August 1717) as uncertain daughter of Thankful Root and John Parsons.  However, Thankful Root's wikitree biography instead lists a daughter Thankful Parsons (born April 1717).  If they were born four months apart they can't both be children of Thankful Root and John Parsons, but some trees list Sarah Parsons and other trees list Thankful Parsons.  I'm having trouble finding birth or baptism records for either of them (presumably at Enfield).

Sarah Parsons Purchase is the daughter of a John and Sarah Parson of Enfield and not John and Thankful Parsons also of Enfield. Their births are recorded on the same page of the Enfield Town Records. History of Enfield Vol 2 page 1601

I could only find the John and Sarah Parsons family on the page with Sarah's birth. They may have moved to Sommers or another adjacent town soon after Sarah's birth. The John and Thankful Parsons family appears to stay in Enfield where they are often mentioned in the town records.

Thank you very much Bill.  I have removed Sarah (Parsons) Purchase as daughter of John Parsons and Thankful Root.  I will have to try to find more information on John Parsons and wife Sarah, especially a marriage record (perhaps in Massachusetts).

Good idea, Perhaps their marriage is recorded in Springfield. Springfield is the original town in the area.

I did find a likely John Parsons, supposedly born 23 November 1690 at Springfield, Massachusetts, and more importantly died at Somers (Conn.) on 04 July 1739.  But he is listed as the brother of John Parsons of Enfield who married Thankful Root.  So the parents listed for John Parsons born in Springfield must be wrong.  Trouble is that this Ancestry listing has no sources other than Ancestry.  Anyway, hope I can find a source for his 1739 death at Somers (or the 1690 birth at Springfield).  No luck so far.  https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/24806605/person/13845531533/facts
