Samuel Reynolds see Samuel Reynolds - WikiTree Profile my family have always maintained that he died 25th December 1745, find a grave has  25th December 1746, because of a memorial tablet inside the church has 1746 carved on it.  Ian McIntyre in his bio about Sir Joshua Reynolds "The Life and Times of the first President of the Royal Academy" published in 2003."

I quote from notes on page 33

"The memorial tablet which William Cotton later had placed in the church of Plympton St Maurice gives 1746 as the year of his death, but the parish register shows that he was buried on 26 December1745. The mistake presumably arose because of confusion between the Julian and Gregorian calendars. Samuel was sixty-four at the time of his death"

This memorial was put there in1859

The church I am talking about is Plympton St. Maurice, Devon, England

I knew about the difference of a year, but was at the time  was not too bothered about it, it was only a year.

But because of a recent post about helpful find a grave managers i reached out to her with the above information, She wanted to locate the actual  parish records, to confirm which is the correct date of death.  I can not find any burials for Samuel Reynolds on Ancestry or Family Search, I do not have an account with find my past or My Heritage. I know it is only a year, but  now it is annoying me. Can anyone who has an account either/ or at My heritage or find my past please check to see if they can find a parish record for a burial for Samuel Reynolds at Plympton St. Maurice, Devon, England, in either 1745 or 1746, he was also the vicar and the headmaster at the school there there for many years.

These registers are online at FamilySearch: see this link https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:939N-QT4C-K?i=44&cc=1804330&cat=1805277

The record is easy to read, and says he was buried Dec 26, 1745.
