Brick wall of a profile Stewart-25453

Question

I have been searching around for reliable sources for this profile, Mathew Stewart ( Stewart-25453),  but can find none.  Same confusion with his spouse, Nancy Fletcher, (Fletcher-7866).  I'm not very good at American research.  There are multiple family trees out there claiming that Mathew Stewart is the son of Alexander Stewart and Mary Bradley but I've disconnected the parents because there was no evidence and the information only adds to the confusion.  Help!  I am going to remove myself as profile manager.  This group of profiles requires the expertise of American genealogists.

It would help to have more information (with sources) on profiles connected to him.

It seems that the whole tree is a mess and needs researching from the ground up to sort it out. Possibly linked family aren't family at all. All different profile managers from the looks of it, it maybe needs help from arborists.
