Much-loved British comedian and writer Barry Cryer has died

Radio 4 comedies were a big part of my childhood, so I spent some time yesterday creating a profile for 'Baz' (and others going back to his great-grandparents). Some lovely things have been written about him, eg:

The Guardian

BBC

and I'm sure there will be useful facts in other articles which can be added to his profile.

I have managed to connect Barry to the tree via his grandfather's sister, but there must be more connections out there. He had great-grandparents from west Yorkshire, Norfolk, Bedfordshire, Cumberland and Dumfriesshire so there's something for everyone!

OBE is the acronym for Order of the British Empire.

“ …an OBE is an order of the British Empire award. It is the second highest ranking Order of the British Empire award, behind CBE but ahead of MBE. It stands for Officer of the Order of the British Empire (as opposed to Commander for a CBE and Member for an MBE).”

Thanks for creating this profile so promptly Katie. I've taking the liberty of adding a link to Kenny Everett too.

Thanks! I had a quick search for him earlier but meant to come back and do it properly.
