He knows his birth name and I have looked up the records and found his original birth registered to an un married mother. I was wondering how if at all possible if there is a way to track the mother all I know it was 1962 in Bristol, England the and the surname was Flight, any ideas are welcome

Has he taken any DNA tests with any of the genealogy websites?

Do not think so I know he has original birth certificate and his adopted birth certificate
An autosomal DNA test will help to identify other relationships that might lead to more clues.

He should be able to get his adoption file  - follow the instruction here https://www.gov.uk/adoption-records.

That should give his birth mother's name, if it isn't on the original birth certificate.

Also, I would suggest Autosomal DNA testing, firstly at Ancestry as it has the biggest database. This is because I have worked with adoptees whose birth mother gave a false surname on the adoption records.

After doing DNA at Ancestry, upload the raw data to as many places as possible (My Heritage, FtDNA, Living DNA etc) and also test at 23&Me as they don't allow uploads from other sites.
