[[Bollin-36|Charlotte Bollin]]'s complicated history

I'm working off Ancestry, and yes, I know the dangers. [[Bollin-36|Charlotte Bollin]] seems to have had at least one child, Mary Ann Barrett, with her second husband before her marrying her first husband. I immediately thought, well, the birthdate must be wrong. But there is evidence which confirms the birthdate. See especially the "INTERWEAVING OF CHILDREN'S AGES OVER BOTH MARRIGES" comments in her bio.

So I'm out of my depth, and if you like a challenge and want to help me out, I'll be grateful. Am I dumping on the experts here because I'm lazy? Maybe a little, but this really has me baffled and my resources have limits.

I probably don't really have time to help you but, I do have a comment. First, you do not seem to have a source for Mary Anne's birth. It probably doesn't matter since often only the father is named on birth and baptism records. Also, I wanted to point out that often on marriage records, a step-mother may be named as the mother, but she is really only the wife of the husband and not the birth mother. This also happens on death records. You also have to consider the source of the record. If she lived with a step-mother for a number of years, she may have considered Charlotte her "mother" so when asked, she naturally replied that Charlotte was her mother. A child of a deceased person may not have known their grandparents and if they were the informant on a death certificate my have made an error.

Without researching, one of these scenarios is what I think may have happened. Just something to consider.
