Mary Anne Farr - father Adolphus?

Question

Hello! I'm researching my Farr relatives from Hereford (England). I've been trying to find the parents of Mary Anne (James) Farr for quite a while but haven't got very far.

Her marriage record states her father was Adolphus James. I can't find hide nor hair of him in any records.

She was born in Hereford around 1830 from lots of census records, but the only Mary Ann James baptism I can find is 24 May 1829 with parents Richard James and mother Martha. These seems a likely candidate, apart from her marriage record contradicting the father's name.

Any ideas? I've looked through Ancestry, familysearch, findmypast but haven't really come up with anything definitive.

I will keep her in my mind as I keep researching my Husband’s (James) family.  I definitely will get back and let you know if I find anything even close.  I recommend keep going back to family search as they add new records all the time.  Good luck.

I've just spotted that the daughter is actually Mary James, not Mary Anne James - she has a lot of sources and not one of them says Anne! Doh.

I'm still completely baffled by Adolphus/Adolph and the missing mother :(

If anyone can actually see the marriage record not just a transcription, that might shed some light on the matter. Maybe it isn't Adolphus at all and is just a transcription error?
