My connection is also with Carrie Fisher at 8C1XR; however, in reviewing the records, I do not find the proof to establish the relationships. My children were thrilled with the connection as both have indicated Leia is a strong possibility for a future granddaughter. I enjoy these fun little projects and if it gets my children the least bit interested in genealogy I am excited. Now, do I tell them or when to tell them this connection can't be proven?? Guess what my research project is for the next few days/weeks??

Keep us up to date on how it went. It's an interesting project.  My mother loved Debbie Reynolds when she was young. I'm not a huge Carrie Fisher fan, but loved Star Wars!

Good News: I was able to disprove the connection to Carrie Fisher in a short time, when I couldn't locate any sources and going back two generations couldn't find any proof of my ancestress being in Virginia or a connection to the family. I contacted the WikiTree individual who had linked my ancestress to incorrect parents, asked for the sources she used to establish the parental connections, which I so hoped she would have. She didn't have any sources, so she unlinked my ancestress from the parents. I was sad to say goodbye to Carrie Fisher and her mother, Debbie Reynolds, as cousins.

The good news is the WikiTree is more accurate this morning.

Haven't we used Carrie before?  No, Kodi release 18 came out at about the time of her death, and was codenamed "Leia" in her memory.

My closest is Sir Alec Guinness.  It was said of him that when acting, he himself disappeared, leaving only his character.  There have been times when I wished I could do the same.

Count Dooku (I mean Christopher Lee) at 19 is closest, but my next two are Carrie Fisher and Kenny Baker, both at 21.  Given Dooku's history I am going to claim light side, with one bad apple.
