I was working on the Family Tree of Samuel Oscar Lukens: https://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/Lukens-Family-Tree-527 and his grandfather William Stewart Lukens was married to Nancy Jane Thompson and married secondly her cousin Elizabeth Thompson.

Elizabeth's parents were Robert Thompson and Elcy Pauly.  Robert Thompson married secondly a Mary Lukens (1797-1865).

My question is who are the parents of Mary Lukens who married Robert Thompson?

In the 1850 US Census Mary is listed with birth year 1805.

Here is her Family Search profile: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/vitals/MCZ8-N1L

I imagine she would be a cousin of William Stewart Lukens, perhaps a descendant of his grandfather or great grandfather, who were both named Abraham Lukens.  Or at least a descendant of Jan Lucken: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Lucken-11

I found a Henry T Lukens and wife Grace Stewart in Juniata County. They had at least 9 children, one of whom was Mary Polly Lukens, born 1797 died 1865. Not sure if this is her, but might be worth checking. She was married to a Robert Thompson 10 Feb 1831 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Mifflintown. If this is her then she is a sister of William Stewart Lukens.

Thank you for your reply.  Yes it looks like this is a correct match up.

I guess I was slightly confused reading the biography of Henry Lukens it gives some information on his descendants then kinda backtracks and says Mary became Mrs Noble Crawford - but after re reading that is meant to be Mary the daughter of William Stewart who married Noble Crawford.

Looks like her parents are already on Wikitree, so recommend connecting them:  (Mary Thompson) Lukens-532 is daughter of Lukens-111 and Stewart-13950.

Reference page 873 of "History of that part of Susquehanna and Juniata valleys, embraced in the counties of Mifflin,...."

This reference specifically states Mary Lukins is wife of Robert Thompson and that Mary is the daughter of Henry Lukens and Gracey Stewart.

Thank you for your answer, it looks like she married her brothers second wifes father in law.

Though it was not in that order, from the records it looks like Mary Lukens married Robert Thompson in 1831 and then her brother married in 1836 her husbands niece which could also be called her step daughters first cousin.

Then in 1842 her brother married her step daughter.
