Samuel Bishop b 1849 Gloucestershire, England

Question

Looking for any information as to the death of Samuel Bishop, born in Gloucestershire England circa 1849, emigrated to Australia  about 1877 with wife Jane (Witchell) and siblings/relatives around 1877. Jane and Samuel had 10 children, one of whom was my grandfather. I am trying to substantiate his death. Thanks :-)

A public members tree on ancestry.uk records his death as 8 August 1923, in Australia, although the data is unsourced.

Samuel was christened 25 February 1849, Horsley, Gloucestershire, theson of William Bishop & Jane, (England Births & Christenings 1538-1975) and his birth registered Stroud, Gloucestershire (Stroud Vol.11Page 437, 1q 1849)

Hi Ron,

I question this date because on my great grandmother's death certificate, she list is listed as being a widow. Plus I have not seen where Samuel travelled back to England, As far as I am aware, he died in Australia.

Sorry Ron, need my eyesight checked :-P. I have checked BDM in both Queensland (no result) and NSW (2 found, 1 possible) I guess I will just have to purchase that certificate to verify. Thanks again L
