Could someone tell me what the word is in the 2nd sentence of Mary Tilney giving up her dower rights in court. It looks like Intermarriage but could it be Latin??  "...before my  Jutoxmarriage????" ....or something....

I don’t think either word is “marriage,” in see “Inter” maybe ”&ce”.  They used a lot of abbreviations, superscripts, capital “I” and “J” are interchageable, the letter that looks like a “Y” is actually “th” and the letter that looks like an extended  “f” is double S. A colon or a line through part of a word denotes an abbreviation.  E often is written like a “o” or what looks like a backwards e.  Sometimes you have to just go letter by letter.

Looks like " intermarrying" to me.

marriage between people who are from different social groups, races, or religions:

"Intermarry" is also ;just a redundant way of saying "marry" and does not necessarily have any other social, racial connotation.
I think what I have to do is find several other dower statements (hopefully close by in time - written by the same clerk) and see how they are worded.  She seems to speak in the past tense so possibly Tilney and Mary already entered an earlier relinquishment somewhere. Outside chance at best!
