I live in Santa Clara county but am willing to check on material most anywhere in the San Francisco Bay area - it may take a couple of weeks but I will let you know a schedule if you have a request.
One condition - I only work on open profiles that are set up on Wikitree - please start the profile and then ask for my assistance.
I have done a little work at the National Archives at San Francisco (NARA's Pacific Region) specifically with the Chinese excluson act documents from Hawaii. I am willing to look into others.
It has been awhile but there are some holdings at the Sutro Library in San Franciso that I have used.
