Have found two different spellings of last name on husband and wife tombstones and do not know how

Her profile says she married Henry Meagher so why is she connected to Martin Maher as wife?

The husband has been incorrectly connected; his death date is given as 1845.

The gravestone for the wife clearly states that it was erected by her husband and son, following her death in 1967.

Both names may sound like Ma - with a long a, and could be  written either way if recorded from oral information

Thank you had to set profile by listing death after the year wife died and finally got the name. They had a son Martin and the tombstone was of husband Henry ‘s parents.
