There was a programme on the BBC a few years ago relating to a story I remember hearing as a child.

This seems to have no link in fact (?) or on Wiktree.

Can anyone help?

The problem with this story is that Nancy's parents weren't Sarah and John Hanks.   Her mother was Lucey Hanks who was a child of Joseph Hanks and Ann Lee.   See www.GeneticLincoln.com for more details and all the DNA analysis that has been done more recently.   Nancy's father (Grandfather of Lincoln) has never been proven and I'm not sure it ever will at least in the near future.
