Hi WikiTreers!
It's time to meet another one of our Wonderful WikiTreers! This week's member is Chandra Garrow.
Chandra...
What are some of the surnames you are researching?
For my paternal family I'm researching Garrow, Gauthier, Schramm, and Kannenberg.
For my maternal family I'm researching Dodge, Steies (or Sties), Fregin, Simpson, Kidd, and Newman.
What are some of the locations you are researching?
Lately I've really been looking into Ireland. I've also been researching Germany (Prussia) and England.
When and how did you get interested in genealogy and family history?
My Mom is a really big part of my interest in Genealogy. She's the one who got started on the family tree, everything I've done wouldn't have been possible without the work she did.
Who's your favorite ancestor and why?
I have so many ancestors that are so interesting, but I'd have to say my 3rd Great Grandfather, Arthur Simpson, is my favorite. He was a Civil War Vet who had a lot of struggles with his mental health. I think he's one of the ancestors I really relate to the most.
Tell us about a brick wall you were able to break down or one you hope to bust through.
I would really like to find out more about my 3rd Great Grandmother, Jane Newman.
She's been a massive brick wall for years. We know nothing about her early life and family (parents, grandparents, etc.).
What are some of your interests outside of genealogy?
I love reading, mainly fantasy and historical fiction. I just finished reading "The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane", and have "Wolf Hall" on hold.
