My G Grandfather x 9 was Jacque Bernier dit Jean du Paris. He was a settler in 1650, I am trying to find which of my ancestors took part in the Battle of the Heights of Abraham!!

Quebecois tag should be added.

Refer to pp. 102-103 of Marcel Trudel's Le régime militire et la disparition de la Nouvelle-France, 1759-1764 showing that there were 638 people living in Cap-St-Ignace which included the following inventory of military officers:

  • Major - François Guimont
  • Capitaine - François Fortin, 65 ans
  • Lieutenant - Bathélemy Bernier, 57 ains
  • Enseigne - Augustin Bernier, 51 ans
  • Sergents - Claude-Joseph Guimont, 45 ans; Louis Guimont, 46 ans; Pierre Gagné, 34 ans; Pierre Bernier, 46 ans; Jean-Baptiste Bernier, 50 ans; Jean-Baptiste Gaudreau.

Many thanks, need to see if the Bernier's mentioned are on my tree!
