30 day wait for merge has suddenly done another 30 day wait

Question

I have a couple pending merges that were due to expire in the next couple days but when I checked them just now I find they've been re-set for next month. Is this a glitch or is someone playing games??

The other Profile that changed was the spouse of this profile.

Looking at  Showing pending Valentine merges Last updated 2014-10-16 05:21:17 is displayed.  On the profiles Changes to Profile merge proposed is dated 17 September 2014

Is there anything that can be done to "fix the changed date"? And is it a "glitch" in the system that caused the change? or ??

Sorry to be a pest about this, but I like to understand why things happen. It just seems odd that of all the merges I have initiated, it was these two particular ones that were changed.
