Lost Family from Norway - How can I find their ancestors? Heidendstom/Hedenstrom, Petterson, Bockman, and Jorstad

I have not had any luck finding my ancestors from Norway.  The only relatively sure information so far is that Johannes Theodore Heidenstrom (or spelled Teodore, Hedenstrom) (Heidenstrom-5) b/d 1846-1925 maried Othilie Sophie Petterson (or Sophie Othilie Petterson) (Petterson-106) b/d about 1850/1938 and had child Henry Edwin Heidenstrom born in 1878 in Fredrickstad, Norway.

The other couple was Frederick Bockman (Bockman-22) b/d about 1860-1914 who maried Anna Jorstad (Jorstad-18) b/d about 1859-1932.  Together they had child Anna Frederica Bockman (Bockman-21) May 6, 1886 in Portland, Oregon.

I already have the information listed above.  Any NEW information that leads to the parents of any of these four people and connection to ancestors is a big help and is appreciated.  Thank you very much.

Hi Robert! May I suggest a look at http://arkivverket.no/eng/content/view/full/629 where you can find different digitalized searchable records for the population of Norway. Best thing is it's searchable and totally free to use. Whish you luck!

I'll check it out Hans... Thank you very much.
Nice website...a great source for some I'm sure.  I personally have not yet found the ancestors I'm looking for.  Still searching....
Hi! maybee you shold look for Jørstad and not Jorstad and Heidenstrøm not Heidenstrom. As you probably don't have ø on your keyboard, you can just copy paste.

Waaaaaaay better.  Thank you.  Now I have far more possible clues to check.  Thank you for suggesting the ø.

Results!  Outstanding source for information and additional assistance provided by Hans.  I found one of my previously elusive families within minutes after entering the right names into the search engine.  Thank you.  I'll be busy with the new info for a while.
Thanks - I'll pass it on!
Hans,

Do you happen to know of any sources as good as the one you posted above for any other countries?  Specifically: Denmark, Sweeden, Switzerland, and Germany.  I really appreciate the guidance.
Hi Robert!

Denmark http://www.sa.dk/content/us/ free but not searchable

Sweden http://www.arkivdigital.net/ not searchable and you'll have to subscribe

Germany, only site is connected to ancestry

Schwizerland, nothing to my knowledge

but in general these sites are nothing compared to the Norwegian site.
Thank you again.  I'll be checking those sites for sure.
