Biography

Alfred Wright was born in Lancashire, England.

Alfred was born in 1886. He was the son of Thomas Wright and Fanny Barlow, ^[1] and was born on 1 July 1886 and baptised on 16 April 1889 at St Matthias Mission, Chorlton upon Medlock, All Saints, Lancashire, England. At this time the family were living at 14 Leigh Street, and his father was a Painter (House). ^[2]

In 1889 Alfred age 2, spent two periods in the the Withington workhouse in Manchester. The first time from 23 January to 2 February with his father Thomas 39, mother Frances 39, and sister Mary Ellen 8. ^[3] The second time from 19 March to 6 April, with mother Frances and sister Mary Ellen. ^[4]

Research Notes It seems most likely he died soon after his baptism in April 1889, at the age of 2, as no records found after that date. His death (age 2) was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1889 in the Chorlton district.^[5]
