Slowly working on sourcing all of the gedcom entries I dumped here in 2015 without sources - whoops! I also occasionally fall down rabbit holes and work on barely related folks, people not related to me but to my half family members, etc. I love cemeteries and photographing them wherever I am. Always searching to bust thru brick walls like the Kool-Aid man but usually just bounce off them instead.

Maternal side has mostly been here pre -revolution on multiple lines, Pennsylvania, Virginia etc. Paternal side is full of LDS pioneers, settlers, Westward expansionists and overall dreamers and thinkers.
Always open to collaboration, comparing and helping.

Michelle Reed Won Team Bronze in the Cross-Country Connecting in the 2023 WikiGames.

ABOUT ME I started researching my genealogy in the early 1990s, hoping to reconnect with my dad. My parents divorced when I was 3, and my mother moved us out of state when I was 12. I only had sporadic contact him before we moved, and never after that.
Sadly, I eventually discovered that he had passed away, as well as my half-brother from his previous marriage. His grandmother who raised him had also passed away, I had fond memories of Grandma Kate as a child.
This fueled my passion and desire to find out who I am and where I came from. My life was shaped by my maternal relatives, but I was desperate to know about the paternal side and who I looked like.
Several decades later, here we are in a genealogy revival with amazing online sources, apps and programs to help us all connect with one another. WikiTree was a natural fit for me - trying to connect everyone in our complex world.
Michelle Reed participated with SouthWest Sunshiners during the Summer 2023 Connect-a-Thon.
I love finding cousins, connecting people and working to make the tree better for everyone!
Current Project: I am working on adding the correct categories to all LDS pioneers with the Benjamin Gardner Company which included my 4th GGrandmother Abigail Cordelia (Burr) Owens (1799-1861). All existing profiles have the category, and I am now working on creating new profiles for company members who are not on WT. This Company left Iowa in June 1852 and arrived in Salt Lake City in late September 1852. We are currently at 112 profiles and only in the "G" surnames.
