About the Project
The Burns Name Study project serves as a collaborative platform to collect information on the Burns name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join the study to help make it a valuable reference point for other genealogists who are researching or have an interest in the Burns name.
As a One Name Study, this project is not limited to persons who are related biologically. Individual studies can be used to branch out the research into specific methods and areas of interest, such as geographically (England Burns's), by time period (18th Century Burns's), or by topic (Burns DNA, Burns Occupations, Burns Statistics). These studies may also include a number of family branches which have no immediate link with each other. Some researchers may even be motivated to go beyond the profile identification and research stage to compile fully sourced, single-family histories of some of the families they discover through this name study project.

If anyone has more compelling information to the contrary, please let me know!
I would like to join the Burns Project. Mary Ellen Roach married Alexander Burns and they had Nancy Burns who had Absalom Abram Barnes in 1797, my ggrandfather. Thanks!!
Thank you for your interest. The One Name Studies Project requires its participants to be Honor Code signatories and volunteer genealogists. Once you do that, we can add you as a member. If you prefer not to, you can certainly collaborate with the current members of the study using the comment section here.

Nevermind my mistake I forgot the squiggly brackets
I've added your project to a couple categories so people can find you. Sounds like it would fit well in our One Name Studies Project and you may find some help from our Scotland Project and Notables Project. Thanks for starting it!
