Biography
Georgina Ford was born about 1820 in England, United Kingdom. She was the daughter of George Ford and Elizabeth Bedford. [1]
Georgina (Ford) Bell migrated from England to New South Wales.
Georgina migrated to New South Wales in 1832 aboard the Governor Halket, together with her mother and step-father, sister and half-brother. [2]
When the family moved to Tasmania in about 1836, Georgina helped her father at the Infant School.
Georgina married Joseph William Bell in 1839. [3]
They had nine children:
- Arthur Waite Iredale Bell (1839)
- Josephine Lassetter Bell (1841)
- Jessie Georgina (Bell) Lloyd (1843)
- Charles Frederick Bell (1844)
- George Theodore Bell (1847)
- Kezia Mary (Bell) Gardner (1849)
- Alfred Burnie Bell (1851)
- Florence Emily Bell (note, no source for this can be found. However, Joseph’s son William from his first marriage had a daughter named Florence Emma)
- Henry Walter Bell (1857)
She passed away on 21st April 1919 in Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui, New Zealand, at the home of her daughter Keziah.

- Bell. —At the residence of her son-in-law, Mr Robt. Gardner, Terrace End, Georgina Bell, in her 91st year, widow of the late Joseph William Bell, of Hobart, the beloved mother of Mrs Robt. Gardner and Mr Arthur Bell, of Kawhia.[4]
She is buried in Terrace End cemetery. [5]
