Sir William Crichton extended the tower-house at Crichton.[2]

He married Agnes [3]and they had:

  1. James 2nd Lord Crichton.
  2. Elizabeth married the Earl of Huntly.
  3. Agnes married Lord Glamis.

He had himself proclaimed Lord Chancellor of Scotland.

Sir William Crichton, 1st Lord Crichton passed away in 1454.[3]

Balfour and Cokayne do not name Agnes as Maitland.

Crichton-32 and Crichton-474 appear to represent the same person because: same name, same parents, same time frame, same location, my birthdate is an estimate
How did this person get attached to MArgaret Maitland as wife: all sources and even the bio say merely "Agnes"!
