James Bell was born in Ireland.

James was born 15 Dec 1887 at Dunmore, County Tyrone. He was the son of David Bell and Esther Mitchell. [1]

On 12 September 1924 he married Kathleen Bates. [2]

He was sub-postmaster of Lissan Post Office for many years. He was also a member of Claggan Presbyterian, Ballybriest L.O.L., and founding member of Ballybriest R.B.P.

He passed away 12 Jul 1963 at Mid-Ulster Hospital, Magherafelt, age 75. [3] [4] He was survived by his wife, son William, daughter Mrs. H. Campton, and a brother William. His son David, of London, predeceased him. [5]

He was laid to rest in Claggan Churchyard. The chief mourners were: [6]

Research Notes

1901 census - Possibility. With an "aunt" Rachel Bell, spinster.

Their son William married Florence, daughter of Robert Thomas McAdoo (1892-1961). There are several newspaper mentions in these names. (Not sure if either still alive)
