WikiTree Calendar

Question

A reminder for older members and an introduction for new members -- WikiTree has a Calendar that lists all events during the month. A link to the Calendar is found under the Help tab at the top of every page. Or you can go to WikiTree Calendar.

The calendar is the only way I can keep track of my life :-)  Do you know if there is a way to import it or sync it with my icalendar?

For laptops & desktops of any make, the Google Calendar via a web browser is my preferred method.

My earlier comment raised my curiosity so I counted. 9 personal calendars plus one that I share with a client, plus four genealogy related calendars. All can be turned on or off as I have need. I love my calendars.

I will check out Google calendar, Debi and see what I think :-)  Why do you need so many different calendars?  Just curious

I like to keep separate calendars because they can be color coded, letting me tell at a glance that I have plans and what part of my life will be affected by any changes. I keep one each for my bookkeeping business, my genealogy commitments (GenSoc, WikiTree, education), and my personal stuff (drs, hairdresser, etc). The rest are calendars I share with others for various reasons.

Different calendars also lets me set default behaviours like when and how to remind me. I like my genealogy things to remind me once at thirty minutes and once at 5 minutes with a vibration of my phone. My business stuff reminds me five time, once every quarter hour and at five minutes also with vibration on my phone but a different pattern. The business also alerts on my tablet but the personal and genealogy don't. My husband has his set to send him an agenda by email the day before.

My life is under control thanks to my calendars. Without them, I focus on what I want to do rather than what I need to do.

Wow!  And I was proud of myself for merely color coding the different kinds of events on my calendar :-)  You are Super Woman of organization!

Thanks for the compliment but I have to confess that it's actually a coping mechanism for a two person household in which both are ADD with OCD tendencies and short term memory issues.

um... I help keep the Calendar up-to-date - if that is going to involve more than keeping the WikiTree page up-to-date, I'll need to be replaced. Just saying.

I just wanted to let y'all know you were talking way out of my ken (even took me a while to figure out "icalendar" meant a calendar on an ipad/iphone!). I also didn't know Google had a calendar. And I never understand what Magnus is talking about LOL.
