Restoring inadvertantly dumped draft

Can I recover data if I saved the wrong version of my edits? I have a previous save, but all the information I had put in after that one has vanished.

Thomas I'm not one of the knowlegeable G2G folks who answers such questions as yours but I'm commenting to commiserate with you. I lost a lot of work under similar circumstances and the experience reminded me (1) it's hell getting old particularly when my peak performance was decades ago and (2) it taught me the necessity to always be mindful of the number of my open sessions at any one time otherwise I end up saving the wrong edit version and loose the version containing the more current work. Your loss could be from very different work flow steps than mine but the end result is the same: A pissed off WikiTreer kicking themselves.  I hope the IT people have a solution for you.
Thanks for your commisseration, Leigh. It might not fix the problem, but it sure makes me feel better. Misery really does love company, ya know? Have a terrific week, friend.
Hi Thomas.  The profile you linked is Unlisted, so nobody can see it.  My guess is that if you open the edit window, and it does not tell you that you have an unsaved draft and ask you what you want to do with it, then your unsaved edits are not recoverable.  Sorry.
Hi, Dennis. I appreciate your help. Unfortunately, following your advice only proves that the situation is as bad as I thought. The previous page that still exists contains work up to a point way back from my brain glitch. So maybe I could prevail on you to kick me in the seat of my pants for not paying closer attention to what I was doing. >rats!< Well, I guess I better just knuckle down and get on with it. Thanks again and have a great week!
Well, I can't recover the data, but I suppose I can administer a "cyber" kick somewhere below the belt, and also reinforce Leigh Anne's point -- if you're operating with a bunch of tabs open (as I sometimes do), pay close attention and don't tolerate distractions until you get to a stopping point!  I wish you good luck with the recovery!

Edit:  Speaking of distractions, I inadvertently posted this comment as an answer!  I quickly hid it, and will accept a return cyber-kick.
Thanks for your good-luck wish, Dennis. As a person in a glass house, I try not to heave cyber-bricks or return cyber-kicks. we all need understanding and flexibility at some point. Cheers!

Once a draft is saved it overwrites the old one in the database, so there is no way for even a sysop to restore them :(

We do prevent someone from opening the edit page for a profile if there is already a draft in progress, but that doesn't work if the edit page is opened in multiple tabs or windows before a draft is saved.

Thanks, Jamie, for reminding me that hindsight is 20/20. I'll try to keep the number of open windows down to a managable level now that I realize I shouldn't let my enthusiasm get the better of me.
