I am looking for more info on Elaska Taylor's death in April, 1939 in Lexington,SC.

Question

I found a death certificate for Alaska Taylor stating that the cause of death was by gunshot at the hands of G.W. Johnson. Elaska Taylor is my wife's grandfather and is African-American. Family lore says he was murdered by a Klansman.
