The LDS Project and Collaborative Profile of the Week Present
Lucy (Mack) Smith (1775-1856)
You may not have heard of Lucy, but you have probably heard of her son Joseph Smith (1805-1844). He was the visionary founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS).
There is plenty of information about Lucy on the internet. Jump right in and start writing sections of her biography. Birth -- Marriage -- Death -- Religion --- Her relationship with Joseph -- Whatever will make her profile a little better and fuller. Sentences don't have to be works of art. Someone can go through and correct spelling, typos, grammar and smoothe the narrative together after the bulk of the bio is written.
If you don't know how to make footnotes, put the source for the material you wrote in parenthesis ( ), right after what you wrote. Someone experienced can go through and make them footnotes after.
Her parents profiles need basic bios also.
Some of her children need bios.
Her husband could use some help.
This profile can be a good example of "Many Hands Make Light Work." If lots of people jump in and do a little bit, Mary will become a great profile.
So choose a "little bit," create an answer here telling us what little bit you're working on (example I'll write a bio for her mother), research and add information to the piece you've chosen.
LDS Project
The LDS Project is about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with sub-projects focusing on Mormon founders, LDS Pioneers, members of the Mormon Battalion, early members of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and prominent members past and present such as the Presidents of the Church, the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and the General Relief Society Presidency. We anticipate adding more sub-projects as we expand and move forward. If you have an interest, please join us!
