I was born and raised in Oregon, living and working in southwestern Oregon all except 1 year of my life. I'm the 4th of 6 children and have a fraternal twin sister. My 1st career was as a secretary/bookkeeper. I then graduated from college to start my 2nd career as a wildlife biologist. I have one son and an adoring husband ;o). For fun I watch wildlife, walk the beach, ride motorcycles and am resuming my interest in genealogy. I'm especially interested in connecting my Witt line to existing lines. Ultimately, it might take DNA to verify the familial connection. Since I'm a biologist, that excites me!
To aid WikiTree in the administration of my account should I be incapacitated, or in the event of my death, I hereby give permission for all private profiles I'm managing to be transferred to the following WikiTreers, whether or not they are currently on the Trusted Lists: Connie Witt-1902.

Yes, it appears we are 6th cousins through John and Lucy Witt. You descend through their son Abner, and I descend through their son Littleberry.
It's a long-shot that we will share any significant matching DNA segments, but definitely possible. I didn't see you as a match on Ancestry but I do have Witt relatives there that you could match.
I have your line in my Ancestry.com tree now and would like to work towards connecting your father in WikiTree, if that's okay with you. Please let me know if you see any errors. Also, I'm more than happy to add or make you Profile Manager on any of them. Just let me know.
You can manage your WikiTree notifications in "Settings" in the dropdown under "My WikiTree". It's probably the daily "Wiki Genealogy Feed" and "WT Family News" that is more than you want. Just uncheck those boxes.
Nice to hear from you and feel free to ask if you have any questions. Cheers, Holly
I'm slow in responding to your comment on Hopkins-57, but I *will* get back to you in about a week, as I currently have family visiting (including 2- and 5-year-olds). I should be able to get to it about the 21st. Looks good at first glance! Cheers, Bobbie
I see that you are looking for information on Clyde Thomas. I am sure there are more than one Clyde Thomas -- but Clyde C. Thomas who lived most of his life in Ft. Worth TX was my uncle. If this is the person that you are looking for, please let me know and I think that I can fill in some gaps for you. You may reach me at [email address removed] Thanks,
Margina Thomas Borne
Thanks for taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. It looks like you are already doing the things recommended by the After Adopting Orphans FAQ. We really appreciate you becoming the caretaker of profiles!

Thanks for working on my late wife's Witt ancestors, I decided it was time for me to withdraw. According to Relationship Finder, you're my 10C and my wife's 7C1R. Those are closer than my relationship to my wife. Tim
I just noticed you are following the Demorest Surname. This is my mother's maiden name and there are about 17 Different spellings within the U.S. and Canada that are all related in some fashion. May I ask, how and why you are interested in following this tag?
I just noticed that you adopted Levi Fiscus. I always like to touch base with other Fiscus researchers just to say "hi." I've been here for a while working on my Fiscus family lines.
Please let me know if I can help with anything. :-)
Also, feel free to click over to my profile and use the Relationship Finder to see if we're cousins.
Take care --
Julie
Completed the merge for the William Witts. Check the bio and make sure I didn't miss anything.

I think your resolution entry on William Witt's profile looks good. Hopefully it will keep anyone from adding incorrect spouse.
Thanks for all the work you have been doing on the Witt family. Definite improvements.
Shirley
Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a Pre-1700 Project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants.
It looks like US History would be a good fit with the tag you entered. Adding the tag United_States_History will help you get updates about activity for that project.
Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

A warm welcome to the WikiTree family! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site youve ever used and it is FREE. WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!
What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research youd like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, youll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.
Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and youll be on your way!
Were really glad youre here. More importantly, have fun growing your family tree and connecting to persons with the same interest.
Ludwig :)
