Biography
Daniel Winston Turner was born in 1869 in Jefferson, Ashe, North Carolina, USA. He was the son of Hugh Turner and Mary Ann Burkett. After the death of his father in 1876 and his mother's remarriage in 1879, as soon as he was 18 years old, Daniel W. Turner left North Carolina, and headed west to Montana, USA.
On 14 March 1896 in Butte, Silver Bow, Montana, USA, he married Margaret Ann "Maggie" White, 1877–1956, originally from British Columbia, Canada. [1] They had 7 sons & 6 daughters between 1897-1920, all in Montana. On the 1 January 1920 US Census, he was recorded as 51 years old, married to Margaret A. Turner, age 46, born in Canada. They had 4 sons & 3 daughters living with them on their farm - ranch in Melrose, ED 258, Silver Bow, Montana, USA. [2]
Daniel W. Turner passed away at 81 years old in Dillon, Beaverhead County, Montana, USA, on 21 September 1955. [3] He was buried at Mountain View Cemetery, Dillon, Beaverhead County, Montana, USA; Plat B, Block C, Lot 26, Space 1. [4]
