Colonel Joseph Taylor Sr. served with Granville County Regiment, North Carolina Militia during the American Revolution.
Joseph Taylor Sr. is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A112670.
Joseph married Frances Anderson (1745-1817) of Virginia on 07 Apr 1763. [1]
John was possibly the paternal third great-grandfather of Dame Elizabeth Rosemond "Liz" Taylor (1932 - 2011)

It would be great if Joseph Taylor would participate in the Big Y or even Y111 for confirmation on the Taylor's. I dna match Joseph and Chris. Joseph at 7.2 generations and Chris at 7.1 generations. I dna match Steve Taylor at 7.6 generations on gedmatch on Martha Taylor 1679-1762 Taylor-678. I have quit a few dna matches on profiles Catherine Pendleton Taylor 1699-1774, Pendleton-36 and Mary Taliaferro Thornton 1685-1741, Taliaferro-28. Matches ranging from 5.8 generations to 7.7 generations. It would be very helpful if Joseph Taylor took a y dna test to sort all the matches out. Thank you!
