Genealogy History

I have been researching my family tree for over 40 years. Growing up my grandmother and great grandmother would share family photos and stories with me. I always longed to know more. I enjoy history and researching my ancestors has made history come alive in a very personal way. My late father and I had many great conversations and interesting discoveries working on our tree together. Now as I continue to look for the connections and stories behind my ancestors I do so as a legacy for my children and grandchildren.

Current Focus

E. Stagner Participated in the 2023 US Black Heritage Project Connecting Challenge.

Right now the biggest family mystery I am working on is trying to find the African American ancestors that passed their Nigerian DNA down to my mother and me.

I am also working here on WikiTree to create profiles for those who were enslaved by some of my ancestors. I hope this will help connect them to their descendants.

Hi E.,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles!

It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
