Maysie Bell Reid was born August 12, 1889 in Augusta County, Virginia, a daughter of Charles East Reid and Sophronia Alice “Fronie” Thacker. She married Alvin Ashby Davis (1889–1952); they had at least one child. Maysie passed away November 4, 1984 and was buried near Alvin at Riverview Cemetery, Waynesboro, Waynesboro City, Virginia.
