Biography

Lévi Després was born on 10 Nov 1858 and baptized on 14 Feb 1859 in Cocagne, New Brunswick, the son of Louis Després and Perpétue Robichaud.[1][2] His godparents were Valentin Després and Elizabeth Després.

In the 1861 census Livie (age 3) was listed with his parents and siblings in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[3]

In the 1871 census Levie (age 11) was listed with his widowed mother and his siblings in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[4]

Lévi married Rebecca Savoie ("Robichau" in the marriage record) on 11 Aug 1878 in Escuminac.[5][6] He was noted as being from Cocagne and she was from Pointe-Ann Sapin. Witnesses were Sifroi Gray and Rose Robichaud.

He died on 25 Feb 1948 in Rogersville.[7] The informant on his death record was his son Ceo Despres of Rogersville.
