We are 6C1xR and we share 79 Common Ancestors.
Glad to make your acquaintance!
Your Cousin, M. Hasselbach
I just wanted to thank you for the excellent information you have provided on the profiles you've added to WIKI Tree.
We are related six ways from Sunday... through both of your parents and through multiple generations.... not unexpected in isolated populations with large families.
Thanks for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge and joining the Quebecois Project!
Here is the link to all the Pre-1700 Projects in case you might want to check them out and join other projects.

Glad I was able to help in G2G.
Welcome to WikiTree! Per the Relationship Finder, it appears that we are likely 7th cousins once removed via René Forest and Françoise Dugas, your 6g grandparents and my 7g grandparents. It also indicates that we appear to share 38 additional common ancestors (I've found that the Acadian endogamy makes it difficult to triangulate and map specific DNA segments to a specific ancestor). I've recently tested at AncestryDNA, so when my results there are completed, it will be interesting to see if you and I share enough DNA there to be considered DNA matches (I have previously tested at FTDNA and have uploaded those results to GEDmatch and, more recently, uploaded them to MyHeritage). When you get settled in here, if you're not already considering it, you should consider joining the Acadians Project. While I'm not currently a member of that project, I'd like to participate in that project (and some other projects) at some point. But I'm currently enjoying participating in the France Project with my discretionary time (I've only recently found my Acadian ancestral links).
I just discovered this tool last evening. It definitely inspires me to transfer my 1-French Roots Project to this WikiTree. Only problem is that I have over 25,000 people in that tree. It will take a while.
