Christine (Brown) Searle was born in Welling, Kent, England.

Both my maiden name and my married name originate in Cornwall, as well as my paternal grandmother's line. My mother's paternal line goes back to the Derbyshire/Leicestershire border where the family were lace-makers, while my mother's maternal line was from the Essex coast. My mother's maternal grandfather's line, the Reeds, is the only one which is truly Kentish, having been traced back to Hadlow in mid-17th century.

All my lines found themselves in Kent by the early twentieth century.
