Sarah was not mentioned in the will that her supposed father, William Allen wrote in 1674. Her birth is not listed in the Salisbury VRs. What primary source supports her relationship to these parents? Lacking any primary or reliable secondary records, she should be disconnected from these parents.

Lacking any reliable sources for this supposed daughter, I am disconnecting her from the supposed parents.

We first cite page 31 from David W. Hoyt’s Old Families of Salisbury and Amesbury published in 1897.

This profile Sarah Allen (30 Mar 1639 – 16 Jun 1741) lists the parents as William Allen (23 Mar 1611 – 18 Jun 1686) and Ann Goodale Allen (abt. 1622 – 31 May 1678). There is no indication in Hoyt’s book of a Sarah born to them in 1639. The sources listed in Sarah’s profile are both listed as ‘cbtryon private tree connection’ so I am not able to see the actual citations. The 102 year lifespan seems extraordinary for the circumstances. I would love to see documentation of her parents, birth and death.

There seem to have been several people named Sarah Allen born in Massachusetts Bay Colony at about the year specified; I even found one with an exact match to the specified DOB. In Find A Grave: Memorial #185714559 we read: Sarah Allen Standish Birth: 30 Mar 1639 Death: 16 Sep 1690 (aged 51) Burial: Preston City Cemetery, Preston, New London County, Connecticut, USA Memorial #: 185714559 Bio: Daughter of Samuel ALLEN, of Braintree, MA and Ann WHITMORE (of Thomas & Mary MEADE); She was the wife of Lt.
