Oh boy!  A Samuel Smith confusion!  Who was the father of the Samuel Smith that married Mary Cooper?  Here are the possibilities:

The Samuel born Dec. 8, 1679 in Milford, New Haven, Connecticut, was the son of John Smith, Jr.(Milford, New Haven, Connecticut, United States Original Text Samuel, s. John, Jr., b. Dec. 8, 1679^[2]

Samuel son of Samuel was born 14th May 1678. Which father is correct?^[3]

There is also a Samuel son of Walter born Feb 23 1678 in Milford, Connecticut.^[4]
