Okay to give an email address in G2G?

Question

Couldn't find a quick answer so I'm going to ask here.  A distant cousin replied to a G2G comment a couple of days ago.  Appears she is not a member altough it shows her name; no profile, just shows the numbers and a server I guess.  Corresponding via comments in G2G could get lengthy and probably not good form.  So, is it okay to put my email address in a G2G comment so she can contact me directly, without having to clutter up G2G?

I am sorry. It's best not to put your email adress up here. A spam bot might pick it up. Hopefully, she will check in and see that you want to make connections.

Art, you could make a comment instructing her to go to your profile - include a link to it in your comment - and send you a private message.  You'll receive that by email and will have the email address of the sender, so you'll then be in email contact.

Good comments y'all!  I was worred about the spambot problem, just not sure if it was much of a problem here. I'll try the private message thing; wasn't sure if a guest could see it.  My profile is set on private with public bio and tree so I am guessing it should work. Mostly it will depend on how well I can type up clear instructions, LOL.  But I will give it a try, and thanks again for the excellent comments!

Art, here's how to include the link to send you a private message in your G2G post:

1. Write something like the following in the comment or answer box:
                   Click HERE to send me a private message.
2. with your mouse, highlight the word HERE in that sentence above.
3. click the little icon in the top section of the comment or answer box that looks like a link of a chain.
4. Paste the following in there for the URL:
   
   https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:PrivateMessage&who=16416745&ref=17663393

I got that link by going to your profile page, clicking on the link to send you a private message and copying that address from my browser's address box for the private message page.

Wow, that worked like a champ!  I was right in the middle of composing a brief comment to her and hit on exactly that problem, how best to enter a link to my profile.  Glad I came back here before stumbling around in the help files.  Just added all this to my favorites, very helpful.  Many thanks Gaile!!!

Aww, Maggie, I'm only a whiz at the easy stuff.  You're the whiz at the stuff that has me totally flummoxed.  Right now, I'm floundering around trying to figure out what country I'm looking for family in - most likely places are Galicia, Austria, or Poland but Hungary and Ukraine aren't out of the equation yet either.
