Nominations have been made, a team of 34 volunteers has been assembled, and 5 lucky WikiTree members have been randomly selected to have the team work on their branches.  In other words, get ready to RAWK!!!!

As part of our 15th Anniversary celebration in 2023, we introduced the We Will RAWK You event. It's a lot like the WikiTree Challenge except that this time our goal is to increase the CC7 for 5 fellow WikiTree members.

RAWK stands for Random Acts of WikiTreer Kindness.

We had our first We Will RAWK You event last March and April 2024 will be our 7th time RAWKING.  We'll start at the stroke of midnight EDT (4 am UTC) on April 1st.  Our goal is to increase the CC7 numbers for these lucky WikiTreers.

How high can we take them?

Since this event is pure WikiTree Kindness, there are no points or bounties.  However, we'd like to collect links to interesting profiles or finds for the research done on each person's branches.  Our 5 WikiTree members who are getting RAWKED will each be listed below in their own answer to this post.  Let's collect our noteworthy discoveries in the comments to each of these answers.

If you're reading this early in the month of April you can still sign up for the RAWK team.  Please answer below and we'll get you signed up.

Have fun, everyone!

Jeremy Stone-18679

From Jeremy: "On my paternal (Stone) side, there is a heavy presence in Kentucky. I believe that they came from North Carolina via Virginia before that.  My paternal grandmother's line also includes the Carters of Country Music Legend. June Carter Cash is my 2nd Cousin 2xR and Johnny Cash is my 16th Cousin 2xR.  My maternal side is largely Nordic (Norway and Sweden). That line migrated west across the U.S. and consisted of many preachers and farmers. A large portion of the Emerson group ended up settling in Washington State. The Kenoyer line on my maternal side came through PA via The German Empire but I have only made it to my 6th GGF there."

Betsy: Where should I post that I broke a brickwall in Jeremy's family line?
I was able to break a Brickwall for Jeremy and add his like 5th great-grandfather. [[Garner-1478|Vincent Tunstall Garner Jr.]]
Charles Hallam (Hallam-1550 ) at 5° (related to his wife) served in World War I.
Thank you Liza

Mags Gaulden-7

From Mags: "My lines run from around Manchester, England, the Welsh borderlands and down to Somerset, that spelling is Gaulding, Gauldin and Gaulden - this determined by Y700 testers. Also lines from Ireland and Scotland across to New Kent County, Virginia, Bedford Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. Some in my families followed the southern route west, to Louisiana, some out to Missouri, and Texas. My specific line stayed fairly close to SC, NC and Georgia. On my Profile page I have a list of surnames with links to EKAs for those specific lines. I'll get that updated."

At 6 degrees, I'm loving Archibald McDonald's "identifying marks" from his WWI Attestation papers.

He was described as 5' 8.5'' tall, with a dark complexion, brown hair and brown eyes. He also had the following identifying marks: ''tattoo woman with Union Jack'', ''flowers with word Mother on Right'', ''Arm - Woman's Head'', and ''Naked Woman on Left Arm''. He was declared Fit for Service on November 1, 1915. He served in Belgium and France with the No. 1 Tunnelling Company. He achieved the rank of Sergeant and was discharged from service after acquiring trachoma, irreversible eye damage caused by the chlamydia virus.

Eric Stamper-1306

Eric's lines are from Quebec, Ireland, Sweden, Finland, the United States, and Germany.  He also has a brick wall on his Bulgarian line due to difficulty accessing records.  **Please do NOT work on the line of his great-grandfather Edward Stamper-1310 since Eric is pursuing that research on his own with DNA.**

Please comment below with your interesting finds for Eric.

Added siblings to Anna Elvira Ekstedt (1884-1950) (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Ekstedt-14), seems like three brothers also emigrated beacuse I didn´t find any death records of them in Sweden.

The sister Bertha died at the age of 3 and the brother Carl died at the age 25 both in Sweden.

Interesting, Eric is my 7C1R via John Baldwin and Anna Scott.

Eric is my 11th cousin, our primary relationship I thought would be through the Ross side.(paternal) My 3rd great- grandfather Moses Stephens married Malinda Ross.

However, in doing a connection check it is through my Vanover side (paternal). So it will be fun to check it out further.
{{Ross-26955|Mamie Ruth Ross]] was born in Virginia. At 8 years, in 1920, she was living in the home of her step-father and with a half-brother in North Carolina. In 1930 we find she is living in the home of her grandparents, Victor Hillmore Ross and Eliza Leona Perkins. In 1940 she lived with an uncle. She married about 1942 and in 1950 she was living in the home of her father-in-law.

Anne Massey-4724

Anne's family is for the most part from Virginia, aside from her paternal grandmother who was from Kentucky.  Her brick walls are the Massey family after Richard Massey (1765-1839) and Thompson Hall (1785-1872).  One of her paternal great-grandmothers is from Wales.

I had a brief look at Ric's tree and decided to follow the trail along Rick's Nusbaum Prussian ancestors.

I used familysearch.org to source back one generation hence from Adam Nusbaum

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Nusbaum-186

to Adam's father Jacob Nusbaum

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Nusbaum-477

I also added Jacob's wife Elisabeth Dimmer https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Dimmer-102

Maybe some enthusiastic adventurer can go further back than I have. Always gratifying to be able to help a willing RAWK recipient.

Exciting, William!  Anyone up for tidying up the GEDCOM sources on Nusbaum-186?
