Nominations have been made, a team of 54 volunteers has been assembled, and 5 lucky WikiTree members have been randomly selected to have the team work on their branches.  In other words, get ready to RAWK!!!!

As part of our 15th Anniversary celebration in 2023, we introduced the We Will RAWK You event. It's a lot like the WikiTree Challenge except that this time our goal is to increase the CC7 for 5 fellow WikiTree members.

RAWK stands for Random Acts of WikiTreer Kindness.

We had our first We Will RAWK You event in March (big success!) and continued the fun in June.  Now we're ready to RAWK again all through the month of August.  Our goal is to increase the CC7 numbers for these lucky WikiTreers.

How high can we take them?

Since this event is pure WikiTree Kindness, there are no points or bounties.  However, we'd like to collect links to interesting profiles or finds for the research done on each person's branches.  Our 5 WikiTree members who are getting RAWKED are each listed below in their own answer to this post.  Let's collect our noteworthy discoveries in the comments to each of these answers.

If you're reading this early in the month of August, you can still sign up for the RAWK team.  Please answer this post and we'll get you signed up.

Have fun, everyone!

Just out side Malc's CC7 - found a bigamist?

I thought something was odd when the person I was following was living with his Mother who had reverted to her maiden name and classed herself as Widowed. In an earlier Census Ernest Parfitt Aust is listed with his 'widowed' Mother as Ernest Parfitt. So I went looking for his Mother's marriage and then her 'husband' Not widowed he was head of household with children from his first marriage (That wife had died)

Sarah Parfitt was divorced from her 1st huband in 1886 possibly due to the bigamist marriage in 1884. The 'husband' is on here just not sure how to write the bio.

Hi Heather--Very sorry for my delayed response.  I needed to find time to look at Sarah's and Ernest's profiles and all their sources.  This is an interesting one!

I think that the best thing to do would be to add a research note to Sarah's profile outlining what you think happened.  It would be ideal if you could add sources linked to the Research Notes for Sarah's divorce from Charles' Aust, as well as the census record in which Charles is living with his other children.  Creating a timeline might help sort things out.  Do you know when James Burgess died?

Thanks for your hard work in untangling this sticky wicket!  Frustrating when you're in the middle of it, but it will be satisfying if you figure it out.

supposedly two days after his marriage to Sarah. The wife Charles bigamously married was Agnes Beaumont Davis (nee Aust) married 23 April 1885 in Bristol. this is Charles Aust

I found Charles Teters (Teters-6) to be an interesting character.

Apparently he had a lot of stories about his early days in Wyoming, in an area where some of the infamous cattle rustlers and outlaws like Butch Cassidy hung out.

I wish I could have found something that recounted the actual stories. He was reported to have said about these rough characters, "As long as you minded your own business, they didn't bother you."
