Biography
Alexander was born about 1836[1], probably in Islandmagee, County Antrim, Ireland. According to his marriage, he was the son of Samuel Smiley Wilson, a mariner.
On May 23rd, 1859 Alexander married Jenny Hill in the 1st Presbyterian Church in Islandmagee. He was recorded as full age, a bachelor and a mariner residing in Ballykeel, Islandmagee. Jenny was recorded as full age and a spinster residing in Mullaghdoo, Islandmagee. The witnesses were William Wilson and Matilda McMurtry.[2]
According to the Wilson Family Gravestone in Ballykeel Graveyard, in Islandmagee, Alexander was sadly drowned at sea on November 8th, 1869 aged 33 years.[3]
